Where does one start when talking about themselves? I already have a shorten bio on the site, however it doesn’t cover all of who I am. First, I am a child of God, and hold true to my faith. I am also a very proud Air Force brat. I spent my first 14 years of my life moving every two years. And although as a child, there were times when I hated it, I would never trade my childhood! I loved it as I got older. I am married to my best friend, who ironically I went to high school with, as well as had our paths cross many times over the years, yet we never actually knew one another- only of the other. It wasn’t until almost twenty years later that we would reconnect through a mutual friend online. I am very grateful for that chance message he sent, and even though we have had some rough times (what relationship doesn’t?) we are very blessed and happy. Between the two of us, we have 4 grown boys (3 served in military too). After Mike met me, he learned real fast what a true animal lover I am, and we have had several critters in and out of the house. Currently we are down to 4 cats, 3 dogs, and an Amazon parrot.
I used to work full time in the medical field as a First Assist for a few area plastic surgeons. Loved my job. However my body did not, and eventually my wrist could not take the daily surgical time lengths, and I had to basically stop. I do miss it at times!
In 2011, the last son we had living at the house enlisted in the AF and moved out that August to start his new journey. I was 41, and an empty nester. However I was kept busy with my parents, and my dad’s health. It was not until after his passing in July of 2012 that I knew I needed something to occupy my empty days. So here comes the Cricut, I bidded for a small one on EBay , and won the action. Well…………. I needed more to challenge me as I dived deeper back into the world of papercrafting. (I had dabbled in it back in the erly 2000’s when living in NC, but the boys had such active schedules I just didn’t have time). Next thing I knew I was picking up rubber stamps. My stash went from my half of the home office to taking over that room, as well as the guest room. 🙂 Now I have a craft room/office at our other house, so we once again have a guest room, home gym room, and Mike has his home office back. HAHA
I was introduced to this fairly new craft company, a dorect sales market company, by a friend. Loved the opprtunity it offered, so I signed up. That was end of August 2014. Today, I am still with Fun Stampers Journey as a Founding Coach. FSJ offiially launched that year. As the company has grown, I have enjoyed growing with it. If you would like more information about FSJ, just ask me. I will be happy to share what I can with you.
Okay- last little bit… when not crafting, I enjoy college football… Go Dawgs!! Sic Em Dawgs!! Woof Woof! Yes, I am a diehard UGA fan!! I also love love love NASCAR!! Before Mike hurt his back at work, we used to spend a lot of time out walking our many parks in the area, or camping somewhere. We tent camped which made it even more fun. I enjoy reading whatever I can. I grew up surrounded by people who enjoyed books. My favorite colors are John Deere green and yellow. I used to say I was a summer person as I love the beach. But as I get older, I find myself missing snow and mountains more. SO to be honest, I like all seasons! Fall has always been my favorite though. Raccoons will forever be known to me as *camp coons* and still my favorite wild critter. We have an armadillo living in our backyard, as well as a opossum family. And we have a raccoon duo that pops in to say hello to us. Love it. They are all welcomed here. 🙂
Now that I have rambled on, I hope I gave you some insight to who I am. Ask me just about anything, and I will answer. And if it is something I feel uncomfortable answering, I will politely explain that.
Thanks for taking time to read this. 🙂
