Will be back after the holidays

I am sorry that I have been silent for some time. Just have too much on my plate at the moment to keep up with all. I have decided to take a step back from crafting for the time being, and return once I have tackled some personal issues (Mom’s house, etc)

I may pop on before the new year, however at this time, I have no projects planned to share.

Hope you all have a fantastic holiday season ahead!

Thank You and Sports

Hello Crafty Friends,

As I sit here watching this past year’s Rose Bowl game where my beloved Dawgs played the Sooners, I am so excited that college football is on the horizon. Yay!  I have missed it.  NASCAR is great and all, but with the upcoming season of fall, football is a must for this girl!

Yesterday we had our huge oaks trimmed and a pine tree removed from the property. The company that we contracted to do the work arrive promptly, with enough crews to tackle all trees and worked all day. They even went above and beyond their primary duties with assisting moving the two vehicles that we could not get started in the morning, as well as cleanng up extra leaves and limbs/twigs. etc. The guys were all very professional, polite, and very much hard working. I am pleased with the job they did, and to show my thanks, I created a quick thank card to send the main office.

I used an older AT stamp we have called Stay Wild. However before I stamped the iamge, I masked off an oval on some Whip Cream cardstock and using our large daubers, begin applying Limeade Splash and Electric Lime inks for the ground, blending in illuisons of hills/ depth by using a scrap piece of paper cut with a few round edges. I then used Lovely Blue and Pool Play to create the sky color. Once I was happy with the blending, I watered down a bit of Journey Gesso and lightly made some clouds in the sky using the Slanted/ angled paint brush. Before removing the mask, I stamped Stay Wild AT in Black Licorice, removing ink off the deer on stamp, as to only get the trees. Once stamped, I removed the mask, added some Journey twine on the side, along with a matching Button Up accent button. I then used the Thanks So Much sentiment from the Letterboard Sentiments stamp set, and stamped in Black Licorice. I rounded the corners and applied panel to a top folding card base of Limeade Splash. I really like how this one came out in the end. Probably one of my most recent favorites. Thankssomuch

And for our neighbors who so genorously allowed us to park in their driveway while our trees were being trimmed,  I created another thank you card. This one also uses an older but wonderful set called Dandelion Wishes and the Vintage Notes background stamp. Sentiment is from the new AT set called Many Thanks. I used two new colors from the Good Life collection as well- Peaches and Cream and Chambray Shirt. Along with the cardstock and ink colors, I also used Peaches and Cream Liquid Color and Silk. Chambray Shirt Satin Ribbon and Meadow Pearls were used to embellish this card. I cut the 3 panels from Journey Rectangles dies, and layed on top of an embossed panel using the Inspire embossing folder (adding another dimenion of texture to this card). Images were stamped on Buttercream cardstock.  I like this one as well… however the one above is surely my favorite today.

I am hand delivering the second card, which is why I did not mind using the satin ribbon for a bow.

Thanks for stopping by. Please leave a comment telling me which card you liked. And if you haven’t already, be sure to subscribe to my blog.

All products used in today’s cards can be ordered at FunStampersJourney.com/KeniLeni

Have a famtastic evening, and happy crafting….. I am off to watch my Dawgs beat the Sooners again. ( Okay- so it’s a rewatch game… but I loved how Georgia came back from behind to win in OT at that!)

Happy Independence Day 2018!

I hope all who observe this patriotic day are enjoying it. Since it is back to work tomorrow for us, we have taken it easy. Instead of heading out to the firework displays that are all up and down our beaches here, we will stay home with our critters. Lucky for us, we have many surrounding neighbors who will light up the sky as it gets dark. So we will not miss out on seeing the night sky brighten with the sparkle of fireworks as they explode in air. 🙂

Today’s post will be another short one, as I am still figuring out my new schedule for my *work day*. As soon as I have it down, I will happily share what day(s) I will be blogging. It will not always be projects. Some days it may be a tip or technique I have picked up or learned. Or even a fun product share, like today. 🙂

I am tickled pink to share one of our newest products offered in the brand new catalog!  I know that other companies offer one, but this is finally in our hands, in our colors, and in our name! A corner round punch!!  I am so ecstatic that it’s here!  And you can get yours here: corner round punch

It’s fun! It’s easy to use! And it’s so trendy in FSJ green!! I am lucky to have won this tool at our convention last month, along with some other super tools. I used it for a card I created earlier this week. I wanted to check it out to see how easy it was to use. This punch lived up to my standards.  I also used a new stamp set (Lakeside) for main scene on card, and then the sentiment came from another new set (Hooked on You).

Hope you enjoyed the card, and the sneak peek of some goodies in our new catalog. Stay safe, and I will be back in the next couple of days.

Happy Crafting!
Blessings and Hugs,
