Party Ghosts and Bountiful Thanks

Hello Crafty Friends,

Wow! Can you believe that August is almost upon us? In just a few days, the Holiday Mini Trends Catalog will be available and to get us into the Fall festive mood, I created two fun cards.

The first one is a darling Halloween party invitation using the Party Ghosts stamp/die set. I also used the Spooky Bold embossing folder for some added texture and design. To color the ghosts, I used some of our silks (Beach Ball and Sparkle Silks) to add shimmer and fun color to them. I wanted something different on the rock candy torn panel edge, so opted to brush entire panel with sparkle silk. LOVE how it turned out. Accented the front with some Black Licorice Journey Thread and a Toils & Trouble Button. Also sprinkled on some Black Licorice Silk over front panel as well. Then used the Party Reminders AT set to stamp out the *It’s a PARTY!*. This one turned out super cute. I just love how it shimmers when the light hits it.partyghosts

The second card was created using our Double Pocket Card Die. I also used the older stamp set Bountiful Thanks. I really like this set.

This is how your card will look before folded and adhered together. Before taping or gluing into place, now is also the time to add any inner panel/mats. I cut mine slightly smaller than each area, and rounded off top corners using the new corner rounder (Inside pieces are the fall print from the Through the Years Prints pack). It is also important that you use a strong hold adhesive to the tabs for durability.  I recommend our White Liner Tape. It’s amazing!!

I stamped out the corn cobs, the pumpkin, and gourd in Black Licorice ink on Whip Cream cardstock, then using the Water Splash Color Pencils, I loosely water colored them before fussy cutting out. I then ran the Whip Cream panel for the very front through my die cutting machine with the second to smallest Fancy Label Piercing Die to create the decorative panel for the sentiment and images.   Once card was assembled and adhered, I die cut out the scallop top for top pocket out of scrap Cocoa Powder cardstock used for pocket card. Created a tag for the back pocket to write a greeting on, and a smaller tag for front pocket to attach a gift card to. Stapled some Cocoa Powder Satin Ribbon to the tags, and then brushed some Sparkle Silk on the front images. To complete the larger tag, I stamped the cornucopia image with a second generation stamping using Cocoa Powder ink. Overall, this double pocket card turned out very well, and I am sure that the recipient will not only enjoy the gift card attached but also the festive card itself.
