Happy September and a Thank You Card

Why hello there Awesome Crafty Friends & Followers,

Happy September! Everyone enjoy thier long weekend? What did you do? BBQ? Work? Relax? Craft?

Have you shared this blog with your friends yet? You haven’t?  How come?  Please do so. Help a fellow crafter out.  If you don’t, that’s okay too. 🙂 I understand. Just want to start interacting more with my followers, however you all are so quiet. Leave me a comment letting me know where you are from.

Today’s card is another thank you card. I was pleasantly surprised the other evening when I logged into my business email account, and I had a new customer. Don’t know this lady, but I am very grateful for her order. I sent her this card along with a couple of goodies as a way to say THANKS! thankyousomuch

I love using the AT (Artist Trading) stamp sets we offer. They may be *Small* however they offer a lot for their affordable prices. I used two of these AT sets to create this card. To create the background I used Zen Leaves and created it by doing second generation stamping. I stamped each leaf in it’s own color ( Tangerine Fusion, Pumpkin Bread, Green Olive, and Summer Days) over a Whip Cream panel. Then used the Many Thanks AT set to stamp Thank you over the background in Black Licorice. I decided to round the corners for a more festive look since I was keeping this card pretty simple for mailing purposes.  I pulled out one of my favorite silks- Dark Roast- and sprinkled some here and there over the card front. Also lightly misted with that mister bottle of Sparkle Silk from the other day. A Green Olive Grosgrain Ribbon was placed under the sentiment with a *faux* bow in center. For the inside I added another Whip Cream Panel after stamping So much from the Many Thanks AT set. I also second generation stamped the Zen Leaves along the edges of the panel. To complete this card, I pulled out the Peachy/Orange sequins from the Summer Mix and adhered near the sentiment.

I believe it turned out very nice, and I am hoping that this customer enjoys her products she ordered as well as the ones I sent her. (I kept them a secret in case someone else wants to order. I would not want to ruin the surprise for them)

Well, off to sort things needed as we leave Friday morning. Eek. Almost out of time!
Until later….. Keep smiling… Keep crafting… Keep having fun!!!

Thank You and Sports

Hello Crafty Friends,

As I sit here watching this past year’s Rose Bowl game where my beloved Dawgs played the Sooners, I am so excited that college football is on the horizon. Yay!  I have missed it.  NASCAR is great and all, but with the upcoming season of fall, football is a must for this girl!

Yesterday we had our huge oaks trimmed and a pine tree removed from the property. The company that we contracted to do the work arrive promptly, with enough crews to tackle all trees and worked all day. They even went above and beyond their primary duties with assisting moving the two vehicles that we could not get started in the morning, as well as cleanng up extra leaves and limbs/twigs. etc. The guys were all very professional, polite, and very much hard working. I am pleased with the job they did, and to show my thanks, I created a quick thank card to send the main office.

I used an older AT stamp we have called Stay Wild. However before I stamped the iamge, I masked off an oval on some Whip Cream cardstock and using our large daubers, begin applying Limeade Splash and Electric Lime inks for the ground, blending in illuisons of hills/ depth by using a scrap piece of paper cut with a few round edges. I then used Lovely Blue and Pool Play to create the sky color. Once I was happy with the blending, I watered down a bit of Journey Gesso and lightly made some clouds in the sky using the Slanted/ angled paint brush. Before removing the mask, I stamped Stay Wild AT in Black Licorice, removing ink off the deer on stamp, as to only get the trees. Once stamped, I removed the mask, added some Journey twine on the side, along with a matching Button Up accent button. I then used the Thanks So Much sentiment from the Letterboard Sentiments stamp set, and stamped in Black Licorice. I rounded the corners and applied panel to a top folding card base of Limeade Splash. I really like how this one came out in the end. Probably one of my most recent favorites. Thankssomuch

And for our neighbors who so genorously allowed us to park in their driveway while our trees were being trimmed,  I created another thank you card. This one also uses an older but wonderful set called Dandelion Wishes and the Vintage Notes background stamp. Sentiment is from the new AT set called Many Thanks. I used two new colors from the Good Life collection as well- Peaches and Cream and Chambray Shirt. Along with the cardstock and ink colors, I also used Peaches and Cream Liquid Color and Silk. Chambray Shirt Satin Ribbon and Meadow Pearls were used to embellish this card. I cut the 3 panels from Journey Rectangles dies, and layed on top of an embossed panel using the Inspire embossing folder (adding another dimenion of texture to this card). Images were stamped on Buttercream cardstock.  I like this one as well… however the one above is surely my favorite today.

I am hand delivering the second card, which is why I did not mind using the satin ribbon for a bow.

Thanks for stopping by. Please leave a comment telling me which card you liked. And if you haven’t already, be sure to subscribe to my blog.

All products used in today’s cards can be ordered at FunStampersJourney.com/KeniLeni

Have a famtastic evening, and happy crafting….. I am off to watch my Dawgs beat the Sooners again. ( Okay- so it’s a rewatch game… but I loved how Georgia came back from behind to win in OT at that!)
